As I grow my business to improve access to therapy services, I have noticed that the stronger my mind and spirit become, the stronger my abilities become.
My daughter loves the movie High School Musical. She has the DVD and the CD complete with the karaoke version. Needless to say, I know all the songs by heart. One song rings loudly in my mind – “Get Your Head in the Game”. When I need a re-boost, I find myself singing that song! From trial and error I have learned 4 key battery-chargers:
- Knowledge is your power
- Hope and perseverance are your strength
- Resourcefulness is your safety net
- Integrity is your shield
As many parents do, mine told me I could be anything I wanted to be. They showed me that it was up to me to make it happen. They told me to believe in myself. They showed me to believe in what I was doing. I believe so passionately in what I am doing that positive energy fuels every action, every conversation, and every thought that I have. Positive energy leads to positive results. When you keep your character in check and work for the good of all – good is on your side.
Next time you feel a meltdown sneaking up – revisit the battery chargers. Also, grab that old hair brush and start singing.
